My Debut Story

My Debut Journey

In 2020, I took upon an opportunity of a lifetime by entering The Debut Programme. 2020, the year that took everything from me including my job. In the mist of a worldwide pandemic, fragile and confused, COVID-19 stripped my life and I was left with nothing but myself. Torn between staying in Johannesburg, broke, and struggling to find a new job and going back home to Limpopo. It took me 6 months straight to finally decide to go back home and accept nothing was working out for me at that time.

Fast forward, I was selected by Business And Arts South Africa (BASA) to participate in the Debut Programme. I successfully attended all the online sessions and completed all assessments. November 19 2021, I officially graduated from The Debut Programme as one of the 120  Emerging Artrepreneurs selected by BASA and The Department Of Sport Arts & Culture in partnership with YOCO.

As a female photographer living in Limpopo, this opportunity was one of the biggest achievements I have ever completed and that made me believe I can achieve and accomplish anything in the world no matter how big or small that opportunity may be.

The best thing about the programme is that, it is for everyone who has the dream to venture into business either in the arts, television, music, photography, digital media and so much from both rural and urban areas.

Vision

My Vision as a female photographer is one day have my own photography studio infused with an art galley showcasing female artists in Limpopo. As they say, "The Future Is Female."
